How Can a CBC Test Control Cost Efficiently?

01.20-2021

CBC test accounts for a generous portion in laboratory daily scope. Therefore, whether the cost control is effective on CBC test will significantly affect the laboratory financial status. As an entry-level analyzer for most physician office labs with a limited budget, H30 Pro cares about the instrument performance and the overall economic perspective for end-users.

1. High efficiency on reagent usage

Performing a CBC test with at least three routine reagents by conventional hematology analyzers is a typical case. By that time, more types of routine reagents stand for more cost for laboratories. To reduce the financial burden and increase the reagent efficiency, we upgrade the 3-part analyzer with two routine reagents only. Besides that, we extend the reagent on-board stability to 120 days to fit more physical offices' needs. To keep the cost to a minimal and the efficiency to a maximal, H30 Pro has high efficiency on reagent usage.

2. Remaining reagent detection by sensors

The reagent usage is essential to increase reagent efficiency. Lowering the reagent dead volume and accurate monitoring of remaining reagent are also critical. H30 Pro applies multiple solutions to meet such a target. Sensors will detect the remaining reagent of both diluent and lyse. The bubble detection reagent sensors give timely alarms when reagents are insufficient. Meanwhile, each cycle's software calculation will be recorded and monitored to ensure the accuracy of sensor detection. The double monitoring solution - Sensors and Software provides the accurate detection of remaining reagents.

3. Reagent management with RFID

Managing reagents by barcode has been widely rejected or disliked since it cannot protect dealers' reagent business, especially those with multiple dealers representing the same suppliers. However, the new solution – RFID is a different story. Managing reagents by RFID instead of the barcode can better secure dealers' business owing to the that one bottle is equipped with one card for single usage. Copy or multiple uses is unavailable.

4. Analysis recording via Cycle Counter

A useful function - Cycle Counter under Reagent interface is practical for technicians. Dealers and end-users may monitor the cycle summary as a reference for rental business, recording the analyzer workload. For service purposes, engineers may review if preventive maintenance is performed as required. Cycle Counter is a simple yet valuable function to users.
